The sale of Sotheby’s Magnificent jewelry total sell marked at US $43.1 million. This auction Achieved 88% of sale. Two fancy colored diamonds sold for record prices at auction of April 2012. Brett Stettner of Stettner Investment Diamonds purchased a fancy blue diamond ring from Tiffany & Co. for $687,712 per carat, or $2.4 million total, for 3.54-carat, Marquise cut, Fancy Blue Tiffany Diamond ring. It is a world record per-carat price for a fancy blue diamond as per the Sotheby’s statement. Topping the 20.17 ct. fancy blue diamond ring that sold for $490,952 per carat or $9.9 million total, at Sotheby’s New York in October 1994.

Cushion-shaped step-cut fancy vivid yellow diamond ring of 23.02 carat was the second highest-selling lot of this auction, it was sold for 1,874,500 to a private Asian buyer. While the third highest selling lot, a pearl necklace by Cartier, sold for $1,314,500 to an anonymous buyer.
