Modern Residential Design – Amsterdam
his residence was built in a peaceful setting, on the island of IJburg, IJburg is situated in the IJ Lake and is being built on artificial islands which have been raised from the lake near Amsterdam, in the Netherlands. This project is completed by Amsterdam based studio Hans van heeswijk architecten, According to the information provided by studio this three story residential house of 2,900 square foot located in the Outskirts of Amsterdam of is especially developed for the van Heeswijk family. The rear part of this water side house is entirely glazed and the front is treated by perforated aluminum panels cladding, to catch beautiful sunset view into the house. The automatic operable panels are placed behind windows to allow maximum number of natural light to enter. The waterfront facade of this view oriented house is totally open. On the upper level, part of the mass is omitted to create space for a screened roof terrace in this residential project. This project is entirely completed with the maximum use of glass, concrete, steel and wood as building materials.
